A wonderfully timeworn early English teddy bear dating from around the 1930s–40s. Traditionally made in golden mohair, with a pronounced muzzle, dark eyes and hand-stitched black nose and mouth.
Clearly much loved during its long life, the bear displays extensive natural wear and thinning to the original mohair, giving it the wonderfully characterful appearance that makes early bears so appealing. Dressed in a later hand-knitted green woollen jumper.
A charming survivor with a beautifully expressive face, equally appealing to collectors of early toys or simply as a wonderfully individual decorative object.
