An impressive large vintage Bohemian art glass vase, produced in Czechoslovakia during the mid-20th century.
Standing an exceptional 50 cm high, the vase is formed from rich ruby-red glass and lavishly decorated with a broad gold-gilt finish. Hand-painted floral sprays feature beautifully raised enamel flowers and leaves in white, pink, blue, yellow and green, complemented by elaborate gilt scrollwork.
The substantial pedestal foot and wide flared rim give the vase a particularly imposing silhouette, while areas of exposed ruby glass create a striking contrast against the gold decoration.
A superb statement piece of vintage Czech decorative glass and an unusually large example of its type.
