By Francois-Theodore Legras (1839-1916). Verrerie et Cristallerie de Saint-Denis.
Ovoid on a round short pedestal  base rising to a square mouth. Orange ground, dark green foreground with green trunks, pale green hills and foliage. Figure of a herder and goats on the crest of a hill. Signed in cameo (in the forest floor)
Height 140 mm
Legras is one of the four master glassmakers at the foundation of Art Nouveau with Galle, Daum and Lalique. Very wide variety of work with varied shapes and decorations. The most used decorative themes were landscapes, flowers and fauna which was no doubt influenced by his childhood spent in a very small hamlet, surrounded by nature in the heart of the forest of Darney.
