This is a Murano-style Millefiori glass vase, a striking example of traditional Venetian artistry. It features a vivid mosaic of multicoloured floral and geometric patterns created using the Millefiori (Italian for “a thousand flowers”) technique. The surface is covered in small, brightly coloured glass canes (called murrine) that have been fused and blown together to form a smooth, seamless vessel.
The high-gloss finish and rich layering of colours make it a stunning decorative piece that catches the light beautifully from every angle.
Height 190 mm
Width at rim 120 mm
The Millefiori method originated on the
island of
Murano, near Venice, during the Renaissance, though the technique itself can be traced back to ancient Roman and Egyptian glassmaking. In the 19th century, Venetian glassmakers revived and perfected the style, producing the distinctive floral mosaics now associated with Murano glass. Each piece is unique, as the placement and fusion of the
murrine can never be precisely replicated.
