This authentic piece has the artist's or kiln's signature (mark) on the base.The shape features a small, globular, base that tapers into a tall, slender neck, sometimes referred to as a "bud vase" or "bottle vase" Kutani ware is divided into Ko-Kutani (old Kutani, 17th-18th century), which is extremely rare, and Saikō-Kutani (revived Kutani, 19th century to present). Most small vases found on the market date from the Meiji, Taisho (1912-1926), or Showa (1926-1989) periods.
