These 4 delightful figures of Putto or Cherubs are in a milky porcelain, each standing on their own plinth and representing different activities; one is eating grapes,(Gluttony?), another with a sheaf of wheat,(Enterprise?), the third with a mask, (Deceit?)). There is a small break on the wheat sheaf.
Hutschenreuther is the name of a German family that established the production of porcelain in northern Bavaria, starting in 1814.
In 1857, Lorenz Hutchenreuther, the elder son of Carolus Magnus Hutschenreuther, established a porcelain factory in Selb. They expanded from 1902 to 1969 and were named Porzellanfabriken Lorenz Hutschenreuther AG Selb (Lorenz Hutschenreuther Porcelain Factories Company, Selb). Unsure of the age of these figurines but we believe they will be late 19th or early 20th century.
The label on the base reads; Lorenz Hutchenreuther Aktiengesellschaft, Selb, Bayern. Kunstabteilung. 2165/Ww
Each stand 14cm high.
