Peter is one of New Zealand's best known hot glass artists, commencing his career in 1979 by building his first workshop and glassblowing equipment in Albany, just outside Auckland. During his glass blowing career, Viesnik was closely involved in The N.Z. Society of Artists in Glass, by being a committee member in the early stages, and then for six years as President. He has a deep felt conviction that glass presents ever ongoing challenges and fields of exploration, which maintains his interest and obsession with this demanding medium.
