I imagine there won't be many of these surviving since they were sent to the wounded soldiers in far away hospitals over 100 years ago. Lid reads, "Christmas Greetings from the Australian Red Cross, 1917". Beneath the lid it reads " This gift is sent with Christmas Greetings from all the Members of the Australian Red Cross Society in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, West Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory and Norfolk Island.
A separate card reads, " Australia's Christmas Greeting", "To our Sick and Wounded Soldiers", "Good Luck and Victory, Xmas 1917"
The box is in good condition for its age. The sticker on the lid has fading and the separate card has foxing.
Box measures 220 mm x 120 mm x 80 mm
